By service

What you can actually get in Italian, biggest first. Where a service has enough Italian speakers to be worth its own page, the card goes there.

Where these came from

These come from 40 different sources, led by an Italian consulate (273), the UK Foreign Office's Find a professional service abroad (131) and a German diplomatic mission (94). Consular lists are the reason a language turns up far from where it is spoken: a mission publishes the doctors and lawyers its own citizens can talk to, which is a language claim someone else made in public and we can point at.

919 of the 923 sit on an official list. The rest rest on the provider saying so, or on a directory that says it of its whole roster, which is a weaker claim and is labelled as such on every card.

What this page is not

The coverage is not even across services: lawyers account for 630 of the 923, while vets account for 1. That reflects which professions get published in language-tagged lists, not which ones exist.

Questions

How many Italian-speaking providers are listed?
923, in 69 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source, not an estimate of how many exist.
Where is Italian easiest to find?
Budapest with 276, Rome with 110 and Paris with 96. Together that is 52% of this page.
Does a listing mean the provider speaks Italian personally?
Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include an Italian speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used so you can judge it.
