This page lists every city where we can point at a source saying a translator works in Romanian. If you know a provider that belongs here, tell us and include where the language is stated.
Where these came from
These come from 16 different sources, led by the Polish Ministry of Justice (23), Norway's national interpreter register (IMDi) (17) and Austria's Ministry of Justice (court interpreter list) (16). A consular list records the language because the mission publishes it for its own citizens, which is why Romanian turns up in 18 countries rather than only where Romanian is spoken.
Every one of these sits on an official list, published by a body with nothing to sell.
Where we have nothing
We list translators in 283 further cities with no Romanian speaker recorded, among them Bucharest (5585), Buenos Aires (3327), Madrid (767) and Rosario (593). That is a gap in what has been published, not proof that nobody there works in Romanian.
Questions
- How many Romanian-speaking translators does this page list?
- 112, in 39 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source.
- Where are most of them?
- Oslo with 16, Vienna with 12 and Warsaw with 8. Together that is 32% of the page.
- Does a listing mean the translator speaks Romanian personally?
- Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a Romanian speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used.
