Where these came from

These come from 16 different sources, led by Norway's national interpreter register (IMDi) (43), the Turkish Ministry of Justice (41) and Austria's Ministry of Justice (court interpreter list) (22). A consular list records the language because the mission publishes it for its own citizens, which is why Persian turns up in 16 countries rather than only where Persian is spoken.

Every one of these sits on an official list, published by a body with nothing to sell.

Where we have nothing

We list translators in 288 further cities with no Persian speaker recorded, among them Buenos Aires (3327), Madrid (767), São Paulo (763) and Rosario (593). That is a gap in what has been published, not proof that nobody there works in Persian.

Questions

How many Persian-speaking translators does this page list?
172, in 34 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source.
Where are most of them?
Oslo with 40, Vienna with 17 and Bucharest with 15. Together that is 42% of the page.
Does a listing mean the translator speaks Persian personally?
Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a Persian speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used.
