Where these came from

These come from 11 different sources, led by Austria's Ministry of Justice (court interpreter list) (59), the Polish Ministry of Justice (39) and the Slovenian Ministry of Justice (25). A consular list records the language because the mission publishes it for its own citizens, which is why Croatian turns up in 13 countries rather than only where Croatian is spoken.

Every one of these sits on an official list, published by a body with nothing to sell.

Where we have nothing

We list translators in 284 further cities with no Croatian speaker recorded, among them Zagreb (806), Madrid (767), São Paulo (763) and Oslo (652). That is a gap in what has been published, not proof that nobody there works in Croatian.

Questions

How many Croatian-speaking translators does this page list?
192, in 38 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source.
Where are most of them?
Vienna with 39, Ljubljana with 16 and Krakow with 13. Together that is 35% of the page.
Does a listing mean the translator speaks Croatian personally?
Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a Croatian speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used.
