This page lists every city where we can point at a source saying a translator works in Norwegian. If you know a provider that belongs here, tell us and include where the language is stated.
Where these came from
These come from 10 different sources, led by the Polish Ministry of Justice (20), the Romanian Ministry of Justice (7) and the Finnish National Agency for Education (authorised translators) (6). A consular list records the language because the mission publishes it for its own citizens, which is why Norwegian turns up in 10 countries rather than only where Norwegian is spoken.
Every one of these sits on an official list, published by a body with nothing to sell.
Where we have nothing
We list translators in 305 further cities with no Norwegian speaker recorded, among them Madrid (767), Oslo (652), Rosario (593) and Vienna (410). That is a gap in what has been published, not proof that nobody there works in Norwegian.
Questions
- How many Norwegian-speaking translators does this page list?
- 41, in 17 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source.
- Where are most of them?
- Warsaw with 8, Bucharest with 7 and Gdańsk with 6. Together that is 51% of the page.
- Does a listing mean the translator speaks Norwegian personally?
- Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a Norwegian speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used.
