Where these came from

These come from 8 different sources, led by the Polish Ministry of Justice (5), Norway's national interpreter register (IMDi) (5) and the UK Foreign Office's Find a professional service abroad (3). A consular list records the language because the mission publishes it for its own citizens, which is why Latvian turns up in 8 countries rather than only where Latvian is spoken.

Every one of these sits on an official list, published by a body with nothing to sell.

Where we have nothing

We list translators in 309 further cities with no Latvian speaker recorded, among them Bucharest (5585), Buenos Aires (3327), Madrid (767) and São Paulo (763). That is a gap in what has been published, not proof that nobody there works in Latvian.

Questions

How many Latvian-speaking translators does this page list?
23, in 13 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source.
Where are most of them?
Oslo with 5, Warsaw with 4 and Prague with 2. Together that is 48% of the page.
Does a listing mean the translator speaks Latvian personally?
Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a Latvian speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used.
