Where these came from
These come from 8 different sources, led by the UK Foreign Office's travel advice (36), the UK Foreign Office's Find a professional service abroad (7) and vietnammedicalpractice.com (3). Consular lists are the reason a language turns up far from where it is spoken: a mission publishes the doctors and lawyers its own citizens can talk to, which is a language claim someone else made in public and we can point at.
43 of the 52 sit on an official list. The rest rest on the provider saying so, or on a directory that says it of its whole roster, which is a weaker claim and is labelled as such on every card.
What this page is not
The coverage is not even across services: doctors account for 39 of the 52, while vets account for 1. That reflects which professions get published in language-tagged lists, not which ones exist.
Questions
- How many Vietnamese-speaking providers are listed?
- 52, in 18 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source, not an estimate of how many exist.
- Where is Vietnamese easiest to find?
- Ho Chi Minh City with 13, Hanoi with 12 and Da Nang with 5. Together that is 58% of this page.
- Does a listing mean the provider speaks Vietnamese personally?
- Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a Vietnamese speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used so you can judge it.
