Where these came from

These come from 3 different sources, led by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (97), the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung Hamburg, Hamburg's statutory doctors' association (4) and the UK Foreign Office's travel advice (1). A consular list records the language because the mission publishes it for its own citizens, which is why Vietnamese turns up in 2 countries rather than only where Vietnamese is spoken.

Every one of these sits on an official list, published by a body with nothing to sell.

Where we have nothing

We list doctors in 387 further cities with no Vietnamese speaker recorded, among them Graz (581), Sapporo (470), Athens (161) and Nagasaki (141). That is a gap in what has been published, not proof that nobody there works in Vietnamese.

Questions

How many Vietnamese-speaking doctors does this page list?
102, in 16 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source.
Where are most of them?
Osaka with 34, Tokyo with 22 and Kobe with 7. Together that is 62% of the page.
Does a listing mean the doctor speaks Vietnamese personally?
Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a Vietnamese speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used.
