By service

What you can actually get in French, biggest first. Where a service has enough French speakers to be worth its own page, the card goes there.

Where these came from

These come from 59 different sources, led by exteriores.gob.es (395), the French embassy in Spain (146) and a German diplomatic mission (146). Consular lists are the reason a language turns up far from where it is spoken: a mission publishes the doctors and lawyers its own citizens can talk to, which is a language claim someone else made in public and we can point at.

1287 of the 1300 sit on an official list. The rest rest on the provider saying so, or on a directory that says it of its whole roster, which is a weaker claim and is labelled as such on every card.

What this page is not

The coverage is not even across services: lawyers account for 594 of the 1300, while estate agents account for 1. That reflects which professions get published in language-tagged lists, not which ones exist.

Questions

How many French-speaking providers are listed?
1300, in 104 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source, not an estimate of how many exist.
Where is French easiest to find?
Paris with 308, Madrid with 210 and Barcelona with 145. Together that is 51% of this page.
Does a listing mean the provider speaks French personally?
Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a French speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used so you can judge it.
