This page lists every city where a published source says a provider works in Urdu. If you know a provider that belongs here, tell us and include where the language is stated.
Where these came from
These come from 22 different sources, led by the Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner (150), Norway's national interpreter register (IMDi) (39) and the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung Hamburg, Hamburg's statutory doctors' association (18). Consular lists are the reason a language turns up far from where it is spoken: a mission publishes the doctors and lawyers its own citizens can talk to, which is a language claim someone else made in public and we can point at.
249 of the 250 sit on an official list; the rest rest on the provider saying so or on a directory listing, and each card says which.
What this page is not
The coverage is not even across services: lawyers account for 173 of the 250, while doctors account for 22. That reflects which professions get published in language-tagged lists, not which ones exist.
Questions
- How many Urdu-speaking providers are listed?
- 250, in 26 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source, not an estimate of how many exist.
- Where is Urdu easiest to find?
- Melbourne with 149, Oslo with 42 and Hamburg with 18. Together that is 84% of this page.
- Does a listing mean the provider speaks Urdu personally?
- Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include an Urdu speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used so you can judge it.
