Where these came from

These come from 7 different sources, led by Norway's national interpreter register (IMDi) (23), the Dutch register of sworn interpreters and translators (Rbtv, Bureau Wbtv) (5) and Austria's Ministry of Justice (court interpreter list) (2). A consular list records the language because the mission publishes it for its own citizens, which is why Punjabi turns up in 7 countries rather than only where Punjabi is spoken.

Every one of these sits on an official list, published by a body with nothing to sell.

Where we have nothing

We list translators in 312 further cities with no Punjabi speaker recorded, among them Buenos Aires (3327), Zagreb (806), Madrid (767) and São Paulo (763). That is a gap in what has been published, not proof that nobody there works in Punjabi.

Questions

How many Punjabi-speaking translators does this page list?
34, in 10 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source.
Where are most of them?
Oslo with 23, Rotterdam with 2 and Vienna with 2. Together that is 79% of the page.
Does a listing mean the translator speaks Punjabi personally?
Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a Punjabi speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used.
