This page lists every city where a published source says a provider works in Punjabi. If you know a provider that belongs here, tell us and include where the language is stated.
Where these came from
These come from 17 different sources, led by the Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner (218), Norway's national interpreter register (IMDi) (23) and the Dutch register of sworn interpreters and translators (Rbtv, Bureau Wbtv) (5). Consular lists are the reason a language turns up far from where it is spoken: a mission publishes the doctors and lawyers its own citizens can talk to, which is a language claim someone else made in public and we can point at.
Every one of these sits on an official list, published by a body with nothing to sell.
What this page is not
The coverage is not even across services: lawyers account for 229 of the 268, while doctors account for 5. That reflects which professions get published in language-tagged lists, not which ones exist.
Questions
- How many Punjabi-speaking providers are listed?
- 268, in 20 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source, not an estimate of how many exist.
- Where is Punjabi easiest to find?
- Melbourne with 213, Oslo with 24 and Geelong with 5. Together that is 90% of this page.
- Does a listing mean the provider speaks Punjabi personally?
- Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a Punjabi speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used so you can judge it.
