Where these came from

These come from 11 different sources, led by the Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner (57), the UK Foreign Office's Find a professional service abroad (9) and a German diplomatic mission (5). Consular lists are the reason a language turns up far from where it is spoken: a mission publishes the doctors and lawyers its own citizens can talk to, which is a language claim someone else made in public and we can point at.

81 of the 82 sit on an official list; the rest rest on the provider saying so or on a directory listing, and each card says which.

What this page is not

The coverage is not even across services: lawyers account for 75 of the 82, while translators account for 1. That reflects which professions get published in language-tagged lists, not which ones exist.

Questions

How many Afrikaans-speaking providers are listed?
82, in 11 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source, not an estimate of how many exist.
Where is Afrikaans easiest to find?
Melbourne with 56, Cape Town with 12 and Windhoek with 4. Together that is 88% of this page.
Does a listing mean the provider speaks Afrikaans personally?
Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include an Afrikaans speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used so you can judge it.
