Where these came from

These come from 16 different sources, led by a German diplomatic mission (46), a German diplomatic mission (23) and a German diplomatic mission (17). A consular list records the language because the mission publishes it for its own citizens, which is why German turns up in 14 countries rather than only where German is spoken.

144 of the 148 sit on an official list; the rest rest on the provider saying so or on a directory listing, which is a weaker claim and is labelled as such on each card.

Where we have nothing

We list doctors in 162 further cities with no German speaker recorded, among them Manila (23), Cairo (21), Belgrade (19) and Mumbai (18). That is a gap in what has been published, not proof that nobody there works in German.

Does a listing mean the doctor speaks German personally?

Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a German speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used.
