Where these came from

These come from 13 different sources, led by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (655), Korea's public data portal (13) and the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung Hamburg, Hamburg's statutory doctors' association (11). A consular list records the language because the mission publishes it for its own citizens, which is why Chinese turns up in 10 countries rather than only where Chinese is spoken.

700 of the 703 sit on an official list; the rest rest on the provider saying so or on a directory listing, and each card says which.

Where we have nothing

We list doctors in 368 further cities with no Chinese speaker recorded, among them Athens (161), Vienna (92), Rome (89) and Barcelona (86). That is a gap in what has been published, not proof that nobody there works in Chinese.

Where are most of them?

Tokyo with 293, Osaka with 121 and Nagoya with 49. Together that is 66% of the page.

Does a listing mean the doctor speaks Chinese personally?

Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a Chinese speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used.
