Where these came from

These come from 2 different sources, led by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (16) and samitivejhospitals.com (1). A consular list records the language because the mission publishes it for its own citizens, which is why Burmese turns up in 2 countries rather than only where Burmese is spoken.

16 of the 17 sit on an official list; the rest rest on the provider saying so or on a directory listing, and each card says which.

Where we have nothing

We list doctors in 394 further cities with no Burmese speaker recorded, among them Hamburg (3724), Osaka (1015), Graz (581) and Sapporo (470). That is a gap in what has been published, not proof that nobody there works in Burmese.

Questions

How many Burmese-speaking doctors does this page list?
17, in 9 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source.
Where are most of them?
Tokyo with 4, Fukuoka with 3 and Hiroshima with 2. Together that is 53% of the page.
Does a listing mean the doctor speaks Burmese personally?
Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a Burmese speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used.
