Where these came from

These come from 7 different sources, led by Norway's national interpreter register (IMDi) (2), the UK Foreign Office's Find a professional service abroad (1) and the Romanian Ministry of Justice (1). A consular list records the language because the mission publishes it for its own citizens, which is why Nepali turns up in 5 countries rather than only where Nepali is spoken.

Every one of these sits on an official list, published by a body with nothing to sell.

Where we have nothing

We list translators in 348 further cities with no Nepali speaker recorded, among them Buenos Aires (3327), Warsaw (1482), Zagreb (806) and Madrid (767). That is a gap in what has been published, not proof that nobody there works in Nepali.

Questions

How many Nepali-speaking translators does this page list?
8, in 7 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source.
Where are most of them?
Oslo with 2, Boston with 1 and Bucharest with 1. Together that is 50% of the page.
Does a listing mean the translator speaks Nepali personally?
Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a Nepali speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used.
