Where these came from

These come from 4 different sources, led by the Royal Dutch Association of Civil-law Notaries (KNB) (7), the French embassy in Portugal (1) and a German diplomatic mission (1). A consular list records the language because the mission publishes it for its own citizens, which is why French turns up in 3 countries rather than only where French is spoken.

Every one of these sits on an official list, published by a body with nothing to sell.

Where we have nothing

We list notaries in 18 further cities with no French speaker recorded, among them Paris (5), Hanoi (4), Eindhoven (3) and Rome (3). That is a gap in what has been published, not proof that nobody there works in French.

Questions

How many French-speaking notaries does this page list?
10, in 7 cities. That is the number whose working language we can trace to a published source.
Where are most of them?
Amsterdam with 2, Rotterdam with 2 and The Hague with 2. Together that is 60% of the page.
Does a listing mean the notary speaks French personally?
Not always. Some sources name a practice whose staff include a French speaker rather than the named person, and each card quotes the wording its source used.
